2008.12.27 -- Hope everyone has had a merry Christmas! I've updated the Grand Prix to show the final standings for 2007-2008. We had 40 participants in the Grand Prix. Congratulations to the winners!
2008.12.04 -- The Susan Polgar National Open for Girls/National Open for Boys tournaments are scheduled for February 13-16, 2009 in Arizona. If anyone is interested, you can download the flyer here.
2008.12.04 -- I've added information on the new chess club in Bridgeport to the clubs page.
2008.12.04 -- An updated version of the KVSCL entry form has been posted.
2008.11.05 -- The announcement for the 2009 season of the KVSCL has been uploaded.
2008.10.28 -- Results from the 10th Morgantown Open and St. Francis Fall Tournament have been posted. I have also just begun to receive game scores from the 2007 State Championship and will be inputting them soon.
2008.09.07 -- Hello everyone, I've updated the design of the website somewhat, which I'm sure you can tell. I've also added the photo gallery function that has been absent since the last redesign. Enjoy!
2008.09.01 -- Benjamin Good is the new State Champion after draws with Donald Griffith and Robert Canary. David Saville finished 1/2 point back at 4.5 and Dave Hines took 3rd with 4. Full details and a link to the crosstable will be posted within the next few days.
2008.08.31 -- After 4 rounds, your humble webmaster is the sole leader with 4 wins. David Hines is second with 3 and a host of others are at 2.5.
2008.08.30 -- The 70th (!) State Championship is underway in Charleston. After 2 rounds, Ben Good and David Saville are in the lead with 2 points. John Roush, Donald Griffith, and Robert Canary have 1.5.
2008.07.30 -- The WVCA website has been moved to a new hosting provider and will be hosted on the wvchess.org hostname from now on.
2008.07.14 -- The Bylaws page has been updated with the changes made at the 2007 business meeting.

2008.05.18 -- Joe Ancrile, formerly of Parkersburg, has died at the age of 65. The obituary can be read here.
2008.04.13 -- Results from the 40th Annual WV Scholastic Championship and the 2008 Action Championship have been posted.
