2008.03.27 -- Just a quick note to let everyone know the announcement for the May Day event has been updated to reflect the correct cutoff date for the advance entry. The cutoff is 4/23 rather than 3/29 in the original announcement.

2007.09.04 -- Congratulations to John Roush, Caleb Aites and Arpan Prabhu who are the new state champion and junior co-champions! This is John's seventh state title and first in 10 years. The final standings of the 2006-2007 Grand Prix have also been added.
2007.08.23 -- There is a story on the USCF website about the new mayor of Kansas City, Mark Funkhouser. I'm sure many of you know of his brothers Dennis and Byron. The story is here.

2007.07.20 -- The Roanoke Valley Chess Club is holding the Southwest Virginia Open on the weekend of August 10-12. I played in this event last year and had a great time. The flyer for the tournament can be downloaded here.
